BAO Sheng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Data Science and Digital Innovation (DSDI, 數據科學及數字創新學系) at Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU). He previously worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and part-time lecturer at The University of Hong Kong (HKU). Prior to that, He was an ITF-funded Postdoctoral Fellow at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He received his Ph.D. in Urban Informatics and Smart City from PolyU.
🔬His research focuses on the integration of embodied intelligence, transportation, digital twin, and robotics, with an emphasis on multi-source data fusion, mobile mapping technologies, and intelligent analytics. His research aims to develop AI-driven methodologies to better understand and optimize complex systems, spanning macro-scale transportation systems and micro-scale autonomous systems.
📄His publications appear in leading journals such as Nature Communications, Advanced Engineering Informatics, and Expert Systems with Applications.
🏆He has received several prestigious awards, including the Gold Medal at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva (2026), Hubei Provincial Hundred Talents Program (2025), and Gold Medal at the China Postdoctoral Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition (2025).
